Finally Spring!

I think we can all agree that this felt like a long winter. Sub-zero temperatures for weeks on end, mounds of unfrozen dirty snow, then to go out with a bang with a blizzard. And just to stick it to us one more time, let’s sleet for a while, and rain for the rest of the week. Just recently we came upon a quote that hit deep, and resonated with us in the most beautiful reassuring way.

What Spring Does

Some winters

are so long

you can forget

what spring does

until it does it.

It encapsulates that feeling of longing for it. When winter seems to drag on so long you forget what the color of grass is, or leaves on trees. Then the poem suddenly changes from longing, to that wonderful feeling of the sun on your skin, the surprise of buds, that awe of tulips emerging from under the thawed earth. The flower market comes to life with color and texture, petals blow in the wind. Our floral designs change from heavy deep greens, to light airy colors that feel like sun beams in a room. We are so very happy for this change of season, for the spark of fresh life. Winter was long and gave us a good show, and now we can breath a sigh of relief as we watch Spring do it’s thing.
